Danny pranced excitedly while Vera Tried to mount up. His eyes and ears were alert, his nostrils were flared, and his tail and head were raised. Vera Took advantage of a brief still moment and with Charlotte's help, leaped up into the saddle, quickly tightening the reins before the energetic stallion could get creative. She steered him towards the gait of the warm up ring, jerking against his defiant mouth pulling in the direction of the show ring. Once they were in the warm up area, she asked for a trot and he jumped forward into an eager canter. Sitting deep in the saddle, she eased him back to a quick trot.

"He sure is up today!!" Vera called over her shoulder to Charlotte. Charlotte replied with an emphatic smile, then looked around for Marc and Fallyn, who had gone off to see the order of go. After finally spotting them walking towards her, she smiled and waved, then turned back to watch her horse.

"Jeez! Look at him move!" Marc said when he had reached the warm up ring, "What did you feed him?"

"He's a little excited," Charlotte laughed. Fallyn, Moonlight Drive's head jumping trainer, waved Vera over then took her aside to give her advice on slowing Danny down. After she was done talking Vera asked for a collected canter and started to do small circles in the middle of the arena.

"He needs to get it together before they go," Fallyn commented, "Oh yea, they're the 31st to go... so We have a while," She said sardonically.

"What number are they on right now?" Charlotte asked, looking towards the show ring.

"20," Came Marc's ready reply, "When they're on 29 we can start heading over there." Charlotte nodded then turned her attention back to Danny. The young horse looked to be behaving for the most part, until he threw in a playful buck. Charlotte sighed,

"He's such a doofus. I hope he can behave for six jumps," She laughed, then quieted when she heard the announcer say number 27. "Well, we'd better head over there. cross our fingers!"
